THREE IS THE MAGIC NUMBER

Three was the magic number for those involved in league action on Tuesday night.

In the Midland Football League Premier Division Shifnal Town moved up to second spot with a 3-0 victory at home to Bewdley Town, Jeremy Abbey and Kane Lewis amongst the goalscorers. In the Premier Division's only other game, Stone Old Alleynians won 3-0 away at Tividale to leapfrog their opponents in the league table, Jack Tomlinson (2) and Josh Sedgley with Stone's goals.

In Division 1, Coton Green and Coventry Copsewood served up a classic at New Mill Lane. Coton Green raced into a three-nil lead, only to be pegged back, Copsewood equalising in the tenth  minute of stoppage time.

With Market Drayton Town's home game against Whitchurch Alport postponed, only one Moldwel Products Midland Football League Cup match went ahead and it was the Premier Division side who was victorious against their Division 1 opponents, Studley beating Droitwich Spa by two goals to nil.

In the outside cup competitions to be played on Tuesday night, Midland Football League Premier Division side Lye Town saw off Sky Bet League Two opposition in Walsall. The flyers beating the Saddlers 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. In the JW Hunt Cup OJM Black Country continued their fine run of form with a comfortable 4-0 victory away at AFC Bridgnorth.
