SHIFNAL wowed their home fans on Tuesday with a 6-1 victory over Wolverhampton Casuals, their first win of the season.
Harry Cunningham, Jake Webb and Keanu Cooper each got two goals for Shifnal, with Kienan Palmer replying for Casuals. Walsall Wood beat AFC Wulfrunians 2-1 away with goals from Romario Martin and John Atherton, Aaron Bishop getting a late consolation for Wulfs. Hanley Town are the early pacesetters at the top on goal difference after a 4-2 win over Haughmond, though Boldmere are on the same points after beating Stourport Swifts 2-1 with goals from Alex McSkeane and Robbie Thompson-Brown. Drew Canavan got a late penalty for Swifts. Lye got their first win of the season, beating Bewdley 2-0 away. There were goals aplenty in division one, Ashby Ivanhoe beating Nuneaton Griff 7-0 at home and OJM Black Country winning 5-0 at Bridgnorth. Atherstone stay top with a 100-per-cent record after beating Chelmsley Town 4-1 and Dudley Town won their second game in a row, 2--1 against Wednesfield, and at the same time inflicted the visitor's first defeat of the season. Shawbury's game against Cradley was postponed due to a Covid case in the visiting ranks. Monday's action in the premier saw Romulus beat Tividale 1-0. Whitchurch Alport and Stone Old Alleynians shared six goals from in a 3-3 draw.
