PROMOTION CHASERS CLOSE ON LEADERS

With Walsall Wood's MFL Premier Division clash away at Wolverhampton Casuals being postponed on Saturday, it gave those in the chasing pack the chance to take advantage and close the gap on the league leaders. Darlaston Town (1874) took full advantage to move into second place with a 2-0 victory against Studley, whilst Racing Club Warwick are third after securing a 4-1 victory at home to Worcester City. Lye Town slip to fourth after losing 3-1 at fifth place Stourport Swifts and Shifnal Town are in sixth after losing 2-1 at a Romulus side who will still believe they have a chance of securing the promotion play-off place.

At the bottom, Market Drayton Town picked up their first home league win of the season by beating fellow strugglers, Uttoxeter Town 2-1. Tividale pulled away from the relegation trap door thanks to a 2-0 home victory against Lichfield City.

Elsewhere, Atherstone Town secured a 3-1 home victory against AFC Wulfrunians, Bewdley lost 3-1 at home to Whitchurch Alport and Highgate United were beaten 1-0 at home to Stone Old Alleynians.

In the Midland Football League 1st Division, Dudley Town extended their lead at the top of the table to 16 points with an entertaining 6-3 victory against AFC Bridgnorth. OJM Black Country maintained their promotion chase with a 3-1 home win against inform Ingles, whilst Hinckley were also 3-1 victors, this time against Heath Hayes. Droitwich Spa continued their push for a play-off place with a 5-0 drubbing of bottom-of-the-table Haughmond.

At the bottom, Cradley Town secured a massive three points in their bid for survival with a 1-0 win against Coventry Copsewood. Paget Rangers' long wait for a win continued as the Bears squandered a two-nil lead at Coles Lane to draw 2-2 against Wolverhampton Sporting Community. 

Elsewhere, Shawbury Town were 3-1 victors at Chelmsley Town and the mid-table clash between Nuneaton Griff and Wednesfield ended 1-1.
