Earlswood Town 0-2 Coventry Alvis Coventry Alvis got a momentum building win against Earlswood Town at the Pavilions on Saturday afternoon. The win cements the Tankmen’s position in the top half of the table and leaves them in 7th with 19 points from 13 matches. Jack Low scored in the 17th minute of the first half to make it 1-0 before a goal from Elliot Edwards late in the second half made it 2-0 and sealed the three points. It’s a good away win for Coventry Alvis and something to build on for December. The Earls have struggled in the league recently with one point from their last six matches. They have a big game away at Bolehall Swifts this Saturday at Rene Road to get their league campaign back on track. Hampton 0-1 Coventrians Coventrians continued their recent run of form with an excellent away win against Hampton at Field Lane on Saturday afternoon to move further up the table. The visitors are now in 9th with 16 points from 12 matches and well clear of the relegation places with a six-point gap over Inkberrow in 15th. The win makes it 13 points from their last six matches and the visitors have grown into the season. Two months ago, Coventrians were 13th in the table with 6 points from eight matches. It’s been quite the turnaround from last season’s MFL division three champions. Despite the loss, Hampton are still having a good season in division two and are comfortably in higher mid table. The Solihull club are in 6th with 19 points from 12 matches. They have a big match against Knowle at home next Saturday in the Birmingham Vase. Lane Head 3-2 Cadbury Athletic Lane head got a crucial win against Cadbury Athletic on Saturday afternoon to move out of the relegation zone. Their now 13th in the table with 11 points from 13 matches and have managed to get some big wins to climb up the table this season. The Walsall club are in a good position and have two games in hand over Inkberrow in 15th on 10 points. A brace from Urio Hijambazapo and a solo goal from Josh Lewis gave the Lane the three points in front of a notable crowd of 73 supporters at Bloxwich United. Callum Devlin and Carl Martin got on the scoresheet for Cadbury Athletic. It’s a slightly disappointing result for the visitors who were looking to push on into mid table. None the less, they have games against Central Ajax (Away) and Fairfield Villa (Home) in the next few weeks to climb the table and pick up some points. If they can get a run of form going their capable of finishing in the top half of the table come the end of the season Birmingham United 0-0 Knowle Birmingham United held Knowle to a goalless draw at the Trico Stadium on Saturday afternoon. It’s an impressive result for Birmingham United and shows the club is going in the right direction. Their 2nd in the league with 30 points from 17 matches and have been good in a tough division this season. The defence has been a key strength of the team so far with just 21 goals conceded and only six at home from five matches. They have a big match against Redditch Borough (Away) this weekend in a local derby which should be interesting. Birmingham United also play AFC Coventry Rangers in the second round of the Les James Challenge Cup on the 9th December at home. Both matches are good opportunities for the squad to test themselves against tough opposition. It’s a good point on the road for Knowle and keeps their unbeaten run going. The Robins are now 13 matches unbeaten in the league since losing to Alcester Town on the opening day of the season. The defence has been a key strength of the team with only six goals conceded which is the best in the division. They have an interesting run of fixtures throughout December. Their on the road to Hampton in the Birmingham Saturday Vase before playing Bolehall Swifts (Away), Coventrians (Away), Hampton (Away) and Coventry Alvis (Home) in the league. The Robins have been excellent so far and are in a good position to challenge for the league come the new year. Their currently top of the table with 35 points from 14 matches.
