GOALS APLENTY IN LEAGUE GAMES

THERE were plenty of goals again in the Midland Football League Premier Division on Saturday, with the top two teams scoring nine between them.
Hanley Town beat Stourport Swifts 4-0 with two goals from Chris Dagnall and Lichfield City beat Uttoxeter Town 5-0, Max Dixon and Jack Edwards both getting doubles.
Shifnal Town took an early lead at home to Lye through Jay Holdcroft ad eventually won 2-1 with their other goal coming from Rees Wedderburn. Lye's reply came from Justice Campbell.
Romulus thrashed Bewdley Town 6-1 with a hat trick from Trea Bertie. Owen Watkins, Rikardo Reid and Dalintin Ticha were also on target, Luke Morris replying for Bewdley.
There was also a hat-trick hero at Haughmond in Scott Ryan where the home side beat AFC Wulfrunians 4-1.
Bailey Fuller got two as Worcester City beat Whitcurch Alport 4- 0 in front of 563 fans.
In division one, a late Connor Richins' goal rescued a point for Stapenhill against AFC Bridgnorth, who had taken the lead through Kevin Buxton.
Consequently Atherstone Town took over at the top after a 3-2 win at Shawbury United.
Ben Novis gave Wednesfield a narrow 1-0 at Dudley Sporta
