EARLSWOOD Town Football Club held their 46th Annual General Meeting at their ground in Malt House Lane, on Sunday, June 8. Jill Bloxham, who was a founder member of the club, and still looks after the clubroom and gardens alongside running the canteen and bar, was appointed club President. Local resident, Bob Jeffcoat, whose sterling service to the club involves tending and looking after the ground, was appointed a Vice President. Other appointments made included long serving secretary Clive Faulkner, and Tony Barrett, who helps maintain the pitch, being made life members. Mike Davies was appointed as club Chairman with John Sharpe, also a founder member, being appointed vice Chairman. The club are looking forward to competing in the newly-formed Midland Football League after their move back to their home ground. The first team will once again be managed by Keith Draper and Roy Dunkley, who has vast experience and knowledge of the Non-League game. They will be assisted by qualified coach, Nigel Fry, another experienced member of Non-Legaue football. The management team have already approached a number of players willing to sign for the club for the new season. The club are also looking to encourage more local support from in and around Earlswood and would welcome any new supporters. A number of jobs are being completed at the ground and five pre-season friendlies have already been arranged. The club is looking for local businesses in Earlswood and district to sponsor them. Earlswood will be running their Colts team, who won the Under 15s Premier Division last year, and they will be competing in the Central Warwickshire Under 16s Division, and will be playing their home games at Malt House Lane on Sunday mornings.
