Coventry sphinx are proud to announce a friendly game against RAF Cosford on Wednesday November 19th at Sphinx Drive. RAF Cosford come to Sphinx drive in a friendly game as a warm up to their Inter Services Competition. The game will be played on Wednesday 19th November with a 19.45pm kick off. Admission is £2 adults and £1 children under 16 with all proceeds going to Help the Heroes. It promises to be a cracker of a game so come along and show your support for a great game. Inter-Services History The Inter Service Championships have been contested each year since 1919 with the exception of the Second World War years. The overall winners of the Inter Service Championships will receive the “Constantinople Cup”. Members of the United Services Club Constantinople, in Turkey, better known today as Istanbul, presented the Cup on 21 November 1922, for Inter Services Boxing. However in January 1924 the Constantinople Cup was re- designated for Inter Services Football. The competition is competed for by each Service at Men's Senior, Men's U23 and Ladies Representative team level. In 2014 the RAF Men's Senior Representative team created history by winning the Constantinople Cup for a record 7th consecutive season. ROYAL AIRFORCE
