MFL teams will be hoping to get back to action tomorrow after seven days ravaged by postponements due to the weather. Premier leaders Hanley Town are at home to FA Vase quarter finalists Whitchurch Alport and high flying Lichfield City host Shifnal Town. Lye Town are also at home, to Stourport Swifts and Highgate United host Worcester City. In division one, Wednesfield - who reached the final of the Birmingham Midweek Floodlit Cup in the week - host Chelmsley Town whilst Dudley Town, who they beat in the semi final travel to Coventry Copsewood. STONE Old Alleynians are celebrating 60 years of football this year and are holding an anniversary dinner in May.
The team was set up in 1962 by Dave Bonnet, who was a young teacher at Alleyne's Grammar School in Stone. Sixty years later they are playing at level five of the English non league pyramid and making regular appearances in the FA Cup. Dave, now in his 80s will attend the celebration dinner at the Stone House Hotel on May 7, which kicks off at 7.30pm. The present squad will be attending and those who have played against Stone down the years are also welcome.
