Good Luck

3/4/2015

Good Luck from Young People

A project by The FA National Game Youth Council.

We’re collecting good luck messages from 5-24 years olds from across the country and presenting them to the England Women’s football team on a giant St. George’s flag shortly before they leave for Canada to participate in the FIFA 2015 Women’s World Cup.

Who are we?

The FA National Game Youth Council is a group of talented and passionate young people who aim to provide a voice for all children and young people within football. Reporting directly into the Football Development Committee, we are able to influence change and develop a lasting legacy within the game.

What is Good Luck from Young People?

After running a successful project delivering hundreds of good luck messages to the England senior men’s team before the FIFA 2014 World Cup, we are excited to give young people the opportunity to wish our Lionesses good luck in Canada!

Young people aged between 5-24, can submit short messages either on twitter by using the hashtag #GLFYP or by using the following link: http://surveys.thefa.com/TakeSurvey.aspx?SurveyID=l4LK3853 These messages will be collated and printed onto a huge St. George’s flag and presented to the team just before they leave for the World Cup.

Young people will be able to submit messages between 30th March 2015 and 17th April 2015. We will also be giving away some amazing prizes from The FA throughout this period to young people that submit a message.

How can you support us?

We would like to invite your club to support us on this project. By showing your support, it will hopefully increase your network further to the children and young people audience we are targeting. As you already have some of the biggest networks in women’s football, your backing would also greatly increase the exposure of the project. If you would like to support the project then you can do so in one or both of the following ways:

Throughout the message submission period we will be selecting random entries to receive a prize. So far these include tours of Wembley and a signed England Women’s shirt. If you were willing to donate a prize/prizes, then through our social media and large email list, we would be proud to thank you for donating the prize.

We aim to give as many young people as possible the chance to send their good luck message to the England team. It would be great if you were able to use your network to support the campaign. This would mainly be in the form of social media and tweeting out the above link which will allow young people to submit a message. We hope that in appearing to work with The FA on this project, it will increase your exposure as well.

Thanks,

Luke Baker

The FA National Game Youth Council member.
