IT'S been a busy week for Darlaston Town, who return to competitive action tomorrow (Saturday) for the first time since November 24 last year.
A number of fixtures were postponed in light of the death of Leon Taylor, and over Christmas the weather and Covid concerns also put paid to their festive programme. A commemorative programme marking Leon's death has been produced for the first division game with Shawbury at The Paycare Stadium (3pm). Although Darlaston have played two friendlies recently, the lack of league action means they face seven fixtures in 21 days in January. Manager Dean Gill moved to boost his squad by signing five players this week. They include three from Northern Premier League outfit Chasetown in experienced midfielder Mitchell Botfield, striker Ben Lund and youngster and wideman Harry Crook. All are expected to be on display tomorrow. Comments are closed.
